What is the World Hydropower Congress?

The World Hydropower Congress is the biennial flagship event for the global sustainable hydropower community. Co-organised by the International Hydropower Association, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the state-owned electricity company PLN, it is a platform for advancing policies, principles and recommendations that will promote sustainable hydropower growth and solutions to meet global net zero objectives.

When and where will the 2023 World Hydropower Congress take place?

From 31 October to 2 November 2023 at the Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. This will be an in-person event, only.

What is the dress code at the 2023 World Hydropower Congress?

Normal business attire is suitable for the Congress sessions and for the gala dinner / awards ceremony.

Do you assist with visa applications to enter Indonesia?

You may request a letter of invitation from the Congress Organisers as part of your registration. The letter of invitation will be sent to the email address you  provided and should be submitted to the embassy when applying for a visa.

The letter of invitation does not financially oblige the Congress Organisers in any way. All expenses occurred in relation to the Congress are the sole responsibility of the Attendee, except stipulated otherwise.

Letters of invitation will not be sent after 15 September 2023.

What are the registration fees, early bird deadlines and are discounts available?

We offer discounted rates to Indonesian civil servants, employees of international non-profit or civil society organisations, academics and students in the relevant subject/field.

Your eligibility for the discounted rate will be subject to approval by the Congress secretariat. If you believe you are eligible for a discount code, please contact congress@hydropower.org before registering.

Is it possible to register as a group?

Yes. Please choose the group category of booking when you start your registration process. 

Please note that members of groups with less than five people are asked to register individually.

I am having trouble paying for the Congress.

The accepted methods of payment are as follows:

· Credit card (JCB, AmEx, Visa, Mastercard)

· Bank transfer

· Virtual bank account (only for the residents of Indonesia)

Can I make changes to my delegate profile / cancel my registration?

Yes, you can make changes to your delegate profile and cancel your registration until the final registration deadline on 30 September 2023. If you wish to cancel, please see the Congress' full terms and conditions for more information on our registration cancellation policy.

I am having technical issues when trying to register (e.g., not receiving confirmation emails, having problems logging in, etc.)
