Book nowAlda Isabel Anibal Salomão is a Mozambican environmental lawyer, land governance specialist and human rights activist. She is founder and General Director of TINDZILA Sustainable Pathways Association/ Associacao TINDZILA Caminhos Sustentaveis, in Mozambique, created in 2016 with “land governance and human rights” as its core theme. Before TINDZILA, Alda worked as the head of the legal department at the Ministry for Coordination of Environmental Affairs in Maputo, as project coordinator at the World Resources Institute (Africa Program) in Washington DC and as the General Director and Senior Legal Advisor of the Mozambican environmental advocacy NGO Centro Terra Viva (CTV). In 2017, Alda was elected National Human Rights Commissioner where she served for 5 years.
Alda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (Universidade Eduardo Mondlane-Mozambique), a Master’s degree in Environmental Law (American University-USA) and a PhD in Human Geography and Spatial Planning (Utrecht University-Netherlands).
