Book nowHelen Barbour-Bourne holds the position of Market Leader for Hydropower at GHD in the Australian Market, where private and state-owned grids coexist. As a Technical Director of Engineering Geology leading and directing project in their early stages through to construction, including Snowy 2.0, she possesses a deep appreciation of the key geotechnical risks inherent to the development of hydropower projects, which is fundamental in qualifying variation risk, pre and post investment decision.
Helen has authored papers on effective collaboration in major infrastructure projects, emphasising the understanding of these challenges and opportunities and the effective allocation of risk. While energy policy and frame works are forming and developing in Australia, Helen is working across sectors to foster collaboration with government and private investors to bring a mutual understanding of how they can support long term private investors to projects.
