Mr. Gagan Agarwal has degrees in engineering (mechanical) and m. tech (industrial engineering) as well as an MBA from CT Bauer College of Management, University of Houston, USA.

He has more than 28 years of experience in hydropower and water resources development and management in the capacity of Class-I officer (direct recruit) of the government of India and in the private power sector. He joined the Central Water Commission, New Delhi in 1995 where he worked in various capacities until late 2006 in project planning, investigation and formulation for river valley and hydropower projects.

He joined Athena Group in 2006 as Vice President and rose up to the position of COO. He is mainly associated with project management and development including environment clearance, land acquisition, forest clearance, project planning, formulation, investigations, design, financial analysis and economic evaluation.

Major milestones achieved by Mr. Agarwal include the development of around 4000 MW hydroelectric capacity of Athena Group. He also headed the 1750 MW Demwe Lower HE Project, one of the largest hydropower projects in India.

Currently he is a managing director at Sikkim Power Development Corporation Limited and also holds directorships in various companies mainly engaged in the infrastructure sector.
