Book nowMr. Nabin Raj Singh, a career bureaucrat, is the Joint Secretary in the Energy Division of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. He is the former Director General of the Department of Electricity Development. The major scope of his current assignment is planning, policy and strategy formulation for the development and implementation of the overall energy sector as well as accommodating, promoting and facilitating the private sector's participation in power sector.
Mr. Singh has more than 25 years of experience as a hydropower and environmental engineer in various capacities under the Government of Nepal. He has a wide range of experiences in infrastructure project conceptualisation and planning, studies and investigation, environmental studies, designing, contract management and implementation especially in energy and water resources infrastructure projects. Mr. Singh has experience working with donor funded projects with the Government India and World Bank. He also has experience with large, storage projects such as the Saptakoshi High Dam Multipurpose Project (3000 MW), Sun Koshi Kamala Diversion Project, Nal Gad Hydropower Project (410 MW) and Pancheswor Multipurpose Project (4800 MW). Mr. Singh holds a Master's of Science in Water Resources Engineering (M. Sc.) from Vrij University Brussels, Belgium and Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E.) from Tribhuwan University, Nepal.
