Violette Ruppanner joined the Swiss Embassy in Jakarta in August as Head of the Economic Cooperation and Development Division. Previously, she was a senior programme manager for infrastructure financing at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Bern, Switzerland. From 2011 to 2021, she was managing partner of a boutique consulting firm supporting positive change and transformation in organisations operating in French-speaking Switzerland.

Violette draws on a rich career spanning 30 years in government, international organisations, non-profit organisations and the private sector. She is skilled in project design and management, strategy development and implementation, change management, organisational development and governance and participative leadership.

Initially trained as an economist (HEC UNIL), she completed an Executive Master's in Management of Technology (EPFL) in 2001 and a Master's in Business Administration - Marketing and Change Management (Michigan State University, USA) in 2007.
